Mirage Reel

The Orvis Mirage Fly Reel is a technologically advanced, premium fly-fishing reel engineered to perform in the most demanding freshwater and saltwater conditions. Designed and built in New England by American craftsmen, the Mirage is made to stand up to powerful fish and harsh, corrosive environments with confidence.

At the core of the Mirage is a sealed, maintenance-free carbon and stainless-steel disc drag system that delivers ultra-smooth performance with zero start-up inertia. An aggressive knurled drag knob adjusts from zero to full drag in a single rotation, while the patent-pending ball-and-ramp drag mechanism provides a non-linear drag curve for precise, controlled adjustments during both fishing and intense fish-fighting situations.

The super large-arbor design increases line retrieval speed and reduces line memory. Machined in the USA from lightweight yet incredibly strong 6061-T6 aluminum barstock, the Mirage features a titanium shaft for added strength without added weight, military-spec Type III hard-coat anodizing for maximum durability, and a fully radiused reel foot to prevent leader kinks. An ergonomically designed machined aluminum handle and low-profile counterweight ensure comfort and smooth operation, while the quick-release spool allows for easy left- or right-hand retrieve conversion.
